I found many examples of Australian universities who prominently display and regularly update their blog.
Curtin University of Technology
This blog takes up the whole of the right hand third of their library homepage.
Swinburne University
Like Curtin, Swinburne lists the first part of the first few blog posts on its homepage.
Bond University
Bond's Library Blog is named The L Files and displayed the titles of the most recent posts on its library homepage.
